Shake up in FRSC
The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), at the weekend effected a shake-up, which saw to the redeployment of two Zonal Commanding Officers, 13 Sector Commanders and 84 Unit Commanders. A statement issued by the Deputy Corps Public Education Officer (DCPEO), Bisi Kazeem, indicated that out of the 13 sector commanders, eight were newly appointed and five redeployed, adding that six of the eight sector commanders, were appointed directly from the Commission’s management.
It said that Jonas Agwu, a Corps Commander in charge of Lagos Sector Command, has been appointed as the new Corps Public Education Officer at the National Headquarters, Abuja. Agwu is an Associate Member of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) and a member of the International Institute of Public Relations.
Kazeem, revealed that the former Corps Commander who held fort as Corps Public Education Officer, Nseobong Akpabio, has taken over from Agwu as Lagos Sector Commander. “The former Corps Transport Standardisation Officer, Kayode Olagunju, a Corps Commander, has been posted to Rivers state as Sector Commander, while his predecessor, Mary Wakawa, a Corps Commander, is now new Sector Commander of Ondo state.
“Dennis Terrang, an Assistant Corps Marshal, who was Zonal Commanding Officer in Bauchi, is now in charge of Special Duties at the National Headquarters, Abuja. Similarly, Chike Nwaka, an Assistant Corps Marshal of the Port Harcourt Zonal Command Headquarters, has been re-appointed Enugu Zonal Commanding Officer”, Kazeem said.
